Tacofino Food Truck

For weeks, I’ve been considering jumping on the sky-train on my lunchbreak to enter the Food Truck Zone.. which is basically anywhere within a 3 block radius once you get out at Granville station.  Well guess what, today I did.. it was all aboard for Tacofino Food Truck.

Tacofino are the proud owners of two food trucks, the Blue Burrito truck and the Orange Taco truck. At a closer radius to my lunch dash, I opted for the Orange Taco truck that many people have raved about, Todays location at Robson Square (or check there Twitter feed for up to date locations).

I’ve always loved the simplicity of a food truck menu, sometimes too many things make it hard for a food lover to decide but to get the full effect, I opted for the Fish Taco and a Pork Gringa.

After what seemed like a short wait under a sprinkling of a clouded Vancouver sky, my name was called and i approached with delight.  The Fish Taco was a crispy yet tender Tempura battered ling cod, with a comfortable amount of chipotle mayo, shredded cabbage and a juicy salsa on their fire toasted flour tortilla. Whilst the Pork Gringa was a grilled 6″ flour tortilla that enveloped the Spicy braised pork, melted cheese, sour cream and mango salsa. Seriously Amazing!

Once devoured I spent the next few seconds contemplating licking the flavours off the cardboard plate… and then i did. Apologies for the dodgy phone quality pics… But i just had to show you the quality of the food.

I hope you all get the chance to try Tacofino, I know I’ll be back… on a another lunch break at least.
